Volunteers Welcome

Without volunteers Friends of the Carson City Library and Browsers Corner Book Store would not exist!

It takes a community of volunteers to both administer the Friends 501(3)(c) non-profit organization as well as to support the operations of the bookstore.

Ways to volunteer and support the Friends of the Carson City Library include signing up to be a Friends member, making a monetary donation, donating gently used books and media to the bookstore and/or serving on a committee such as Visiting Authors, Website Support, Social Media Support and Community Outreach.

Ways to volunteer and support the Browsers Corner Book Store include becoming a Friends member and working at least one shift a month in the bookstore. Browsers volunteers accept and sort donations, shelve books, greet customers, run the cash register and assist with website maintenance and social media posting. Volunteers come from all walks of life. Some are young and fully employed, some are retired and more mature in years. Some are former educators, State employees, business professionals and librarians. But one quality common to all volunteers is the joy of sharing reading with their neighbors in Carson City.

If you would like to volunteer, stop by the store and ask for an application.
