As summer draws to a close, the anticipation of a new school year looms on the horizon. For some children, this time can be both exciting and nerve-wracking. However, there are many kids in our community who face additional challenges in their lives. That’s why we, at Friends of the Carson City Library, are thrilled to announce the return of our annual Back to School Drive in support of the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program.
The CASA program plays a crucial role in the lives of children in need. CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children within the foster care system. These children often lack the stable support system that many of us take for granted, making the back-to-school season particularly challenging for them.
This year, we are on a mission to help alleviate some of the stress and financial burden faced by these vulnerable kids and their caregivers. Browsers Corner Book Store is collecting school supplies, ensuring that every child has the necessary tools to succeed in their academic journey.
How You Can Help:
From July 25 to August 19, we invite you to join us in our efforts to support CASA kids. Your generosity can make a significant impact on a child’s life. School supplies are needed for children of all ages.
Please note that we do not need 3 ring binders and spiral notebooks at this time.
Feel free to drop off your donations of school supplies at Browsers Corner Book Store, located at 711 E Washington St. Your contributions will directly benefit CASA children of all ages, ensuring they have the tools they need to excel in their studies.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these children and show them that our community cares. Let’s rally together and make this back-to-school season a time of hope and promise for our local CASA kids!
